Ma Ma Mee Restaurant underwent a major renovation, with the owners of the restaurant keen for a new colour scheme that is inviting and contemporary.
The walls and ceiling are finished with a grey colour micro-cement texture, creating gradients in the dining area.
The neutral colour scheme combines warm earthy finishes such as the orange upholstery of the chairs, the timber finishes of the joinery, adding warmth and coziness to the other industrial and modern aesthetic.
The central bar with its arched shelves creates a focal point that is centrally located, and the right neon sign adds a pop of colour and serves as a striking accent, drawing attention and adding a contemporary and vibrant touch to the space.
The use of architectural elements like the arches and the curved ceiling profile adds a dynamic and visual flow to the space. These elements draw the eye and create a sense of depth and dimension to the central space. The varying pendant lights add a warm, radiant feel to the dining spaces.
There is a fusion of styles, combining modern design elements with traditional architectural features (like the arches), and adding a cultural touch with the Chinese characters on the neon sign, which is symbolic of the Asian -fusion cuisine.
